Mourad BEN EMBAREK (1933-2011)

Mourad BEN EMBAREK, (died in 2011), emblematic figure of modernist Moroccan architecture. In 1956, barely 27 years old, and freshly graduated from the École des Beaux Arts and the École Spéciale d’Architecture in Paris, he became the first Moroccan to join the Moroccan administration of urban planning and housing. His first project was the reconstruction of the city of Agadir.
