MAMMA is an NGO dedicated to promoting and celebrating Moroccan art, architecture, and urbanism from the second half of the 20th century. Our primary mission is to shed light on the innovative work of a pioneering generation of modern architects.
Our goals encompass three main areas:
Preservation and Enhancement: We strive to preserve and enhance the modern artistic, architectural, and urban heritage of Morocco. By recognizing the value of these cultural treasures, we work towards their protection and conservation.
Awareness and Advocacy: We aim to raise awareness among the public about the importance of safeguarding this heritage. We advocate for its significance in order to foster a collective sense of responsibility towards preserving and maintaining these cultural assets for future generations.
Interdisciplinary Engagement: We encourage the exchange of perspectives and collaboration across different disciplines regarding this heritage. We foster a dynamic dialogue between the past and contemporary reflections, embracing both the present and future visions.
To fulfill our mission, we undertake various actions, including:
Research and Publication: We conduct in-depth research and publish articles, books, and other forms of literature to highlight and promote awareness about the architectural and artistic heritage we focus on.
Exhibitions and Events: We organize exhibitions, round tables, seminars, workshops, and conferences dedicated to architecture and urban planning. These events serve as platforms for knowledge-sharing, dialogue, and appreciation of the architectural achievements from this era.
Archiving and Collection: We actively collect and archive the architectural and urban productions of the generation we are devoted to. By preserving physical and digital records, we ensure the accessibility and availability of these valuable resources for future study and appreciation.
Guided Tours: We offer guided tours to the public, allowing them to experience and engage with the physical manifestations of the architectural and urban heritage we promote. These tours provide an immersive and educational experience that deepens understanding and appreciation.
Through our multifaceted approach, we strive to champion and celebrate the rich heritage of Moroccan art, architecture, and urbanism, bringing it to the forefront of cultural discourse and ensuring its lasting legacy.
